I was able to visit Sambhali Trust as part of my annual visit to FSD project sites. Amongst the various development projects I have visited in the past years, Sambhali Trust definitely will remain as one of my most memorable projects. Govind is so full of passion for his work for the Trust, and such a visionary! I had the pleasure of visiting the two workshops and enjoyed very much meeting the women whom are so excited at the second chance provided by the Trust. Sambhali Trust is a very worthwhile cause, and I feel so privileged to have had the chance to learn about the great work they are doing in India!
Cheers,
Wingee

We visited Sambhali Trust for 4 days during last august 2008 and got very impressed by the project, its aims and strategies. We admired the useful opportunities given to the girls to shape their own future by gaining skills and self-consciousness and we really hope Sambhali can really go further in its way. We advice everybody passin' by Jodhpur to spend some time at Sambhali's and do some volunteering if possible. That has been our big chance to get to know a beautiful piece of India by close and we'll hold those precious memories in our hearts forever! Luigi & Silvia

Was generally reading through the booklets you gave me on the last day, suddenly all the memories came flashing in front of me. Never thought that such a small stretch of association with Sambhali would become an experience of a lifetime for me. At Sambhali, I never got an opportunity of expressing my gratitude to you or may be it was only later that I realized the change.

My initial thoughts about joining Sambhali were very much personalized. Being grown up in closed protective surroundings of comforting parental shelter have always shielded kids(no clue, whether I fall within the group now) like us from seeing the other side of life. All our aims are concentrated at converting every inch of learning to financial gains. Education is only a form of fixed deposit to be encashed at a later stage. My initial stint of 3 years at the law school were concentrated solely at grabbing a job at a top notch foreign law firm. The pre-thought about joining Sambhali was simply to acquaint myself with the often heard but never seen structure of our society. Had read much about women empowerment in Books and Sociology classes. So the first thing that struck me then was why not lets see what it actually is.

When I was first told that I have to prepare a bunch of ladies for a documentary, my initial reaction was which lawyer does that. I took it up as a learning experience and plunged into it with almost no clue whether I'll be able to comply with your deadline or worse how I will even do it. It was the first time when my colleagues were not files and computers, but a bunch of humans. Humans not with black coats but people who had so much to say. Who have decided to fight against all odds in life. Who have decided to laugh away at the harshest pains which life can inflict upon them. What I met were not just a bunch of ordinary people, but the strongest fighters I have ever seen.

After hearing their stories, I simply felt that I have seen nothing at all. By far my biggest sorrow has been a shuffle of marks in my grade sheet. If asked a change that Sambhali has brought in my life, I'd say that would be fighting through the impediments that life may impose. As Nirmala Ji says, "Ab chinta nahee rehti. Ab bahut khush hoon."

I only want to thank you for giving me this wonderful opportunity of working with Sambhali; of interacting with the sweetest people around. Would never forget the love I got from everyone out there. Thanks a lot.

I would be extremely happy if I can contribute to the great initiative you have undertaken in the future as well. I would be obliged if I'll be of any assistance to you.
